Abstraction reform shelved as legislative programme is hit by Brexit plans

Abstraction reform is to be shelved. Water minister Therese Coffey made the announcement at a recent meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Water Group in Portcullis House. She told the group that we “have to be realistic” about pressures on the primarily legislative programme over the next few years and said she was not “promising any primary legislation in the near future”.
