Suppliers are now required to transfer all their business customers to half-hourly meters under an industry modification known as P272, according to data released by Elexon under industry modification P315.

The deadline for transfer was 1 April 2017, but figures show that almost all companies have some  customers still on non half-hourly meters and at the end of Q2 2017, a total of more than 30,000 non half-hourly meters were still in operation, compared with 268,969 half-hourly metered installations.
