DfT announces city winners of £35 million in electric vehicle funding

 

Four cities are sharing £35 million in funding to help provide conditions to encourage the rollout of electric vehicles (EVs), the Department for Transport (DfT) has announced. The four were winners in the DfT’s ‘Go Ultra Low City’ scheme. But not all the schemes involved charging infrastructure. Some underwrite benefits to users of plug-in vehicles such as free car parking – the DfT said the funding would ‘open up’ 25,000 parking spaces for plug-in vehicles.
