Customers, both domestic and business, are about to become much more important drivers of change in the energy market. In a decade they could be far more influential than industry bodies like utilities or central government. They will exert that power not just as energy customers switching between utilities, but also as active participants whose decisions will require the industry to adapt. That was the conclusion of members of New Power’s Expert Forum, polled in association with market research company Accent.
