Gas? No supply problems, says BEIS

The UK is unlikely to see a return to seasonal variation in gas prices, BEIS has concluded. In a report on security of supply for gas, the department said volatility in the gas market had declined, “explained by the diversity of sources and capacity of infrastructure”. The department said it would keep the need for storage under review but “while short-range volatility may improve in the medium term, bringing on new short-range gas storage; the increased diversity of gas sources throughout the year makes it unlikely that high seasonal volatility will return”.
