ABB and Rolls-Royce have formed a partnership to offer a microgrid solution for utility, commercial and industrial customers.

The microgrid provides the overall control to allow users to combine power from CHP, diesel and gas-powered gensets, renewables and batteries to meet their industrial, residential or consumer loads. They can function on or off grid, and some can separate themselves from the main grid in the event of a grid fault or emergency.
