National Grid sets out next steps on frequency

National Grid has published an update on its plans to rationalise ancillary services procurement. Changes to frequency response will reduce the number of possible tendered combinations “from several tens of millions to a few hundred”, the SO said, including standardisd contract periods. Plans for a “frequency containment” product may add to the suite, however, and reduce the need for other services.
