Kiwi Power chief executive Yoav Zingher says the demand side of the energy market has not taken off as it seemed it might two years ago. But he remains optimistic about the long term, he told Janet Wood
Six years after Yoav Zingher started Kiwi Power (with co-founder Ziko Abram), the company has grown to use about 750 largely commercial and industrial sites to provide paid-for demand response and grid services. That’s still a small number, when many – if not most – UK energy buyers could be tapping that income source to some extent, and helping keep energy system costs low. I ask Zingher whether it’s become an easier ‘sell’ over that time.
