NI energy projects hit by lack of ministerial decisions

Large energy projects in Northern Ireland (NI) have been caught up in the fallout from a Belfast High Court ruling that quashed permission for a major waste management project because the decision was taken by civil servants in the absence of a minister.

The Northern Ireland Executive has appealed against the ruling because of the impact on decision making in the Province, hit by the collapse of the power-sharing administration 16 months ago.
