Nuclear CfDs: how big is the waste and decommissioning hurdle for new-build?

Arun Mani says there is a ‘cascade of risks’ from the UK’s unique arrangements and potential investors should make sure they fully understand all the aspects of nuclear decommissioning and waste management

“When one plans new nuclear build, one needs to do so keeping the end in mind. This means making arrangements for managing the waste from nuclear reactors and decommissioning the plants at the end of their life,” according to Arun Mani, a partner at management consultancy Oliver Wyman.
