EirGrid, Ireland’s electricity grid operator, will replace the Grid West electricity transmission project with a smaller-scale development because there will be less new wind generation in the North Connacht region than expected.

 

The Irish Republic’s Commission for Energy Regulation has given the green light to roll out smart meters by 2024 in a project anticipated to cost €1.2 billion.
