Ofgem looks again at Greenlink

Ofgem has revised its assessment of a proposed new interconnector between the GB market and the Ireland/Northern Ireland Single Energy Market (SEM).

Originally, Ofgem considered that energy prices would be higher in SEM than in GB, and the link could cause operating problems in the GB network. That meant the link overall would have negative benefits fro GB consumers and Ofgem said it would not offer a “cap and floor” regime to the project.
