Ofgem probes three companies over business meter failings

Ofgem has begun investigations into three energy suppliers – E.ON, British Gas and Npower – over their roll-out of advanced meters to business customers.
From April this year energy companies were required to use advanced meters for all their large business customers, to give the customers more detail of their energy use and the ability to use time-of-use tariffs.  However Ofgem said in respect of all three companies that some customers were still being supplied using “dumb” meters.
