With five years’ experience, Ofgem is tightening up its competitive regime for offshore wind farm connections

Ofgem has promised a streamlined and less expensive tender process for companies that bid in the next round to own and manage offshore transmission links (Oftos). The regulator expects that the seventh bidding round will be held in the autumn this year and will cover the links to Hornsea 1, Beatrice and East Anglia. Invitations to tender will be staggered to ease the process for bidders.
