Ofgem has agreed that the go-live date for Project Nexus should be delayed by a year, to 1 October 2016. The regulator was responding to fears over the timetable to switch to the new system – which will change business processes for any organisation involved in the competitive gas market, and was described by the regulator as “a step change for the gas industry, both in terms of business rules and supporting systems” and compared to the introduction of domestic competition in its far-reaching effects.
