Report: Scottish energy strategy anticipates regional shifts to electricity or hydrogen

The Scottish government has set out two low-carbon energy scenarios for Scotland in 2050 in a new energy strategy – one with a major shift to using electricity, including for heat and transport, and another that focuses on switching gas networks to low-carbon sources, generally hydrogen. In reality, the strategy said, development is likely to have aspects of both scenarios and there may be regional differences.
