Spark Energy makes £250,000 redress payment

Energy supplier Spark Energy has made a £250,000 payment to Citizens Advice and Citizens Advice Scotland (less a £1 penalty to Ofgem) in recompense for multiple, longstanding failings in dealing with customers.
The company, which specialises in providing power for rental properties, had blocked customer transfers away and transferred customers without their permission and it fell short on refunding customers, billing and complaints handling. Some failings had persisted from 2010 to 2014.
