Utilities’ future is distributed, but customers need to understand the changes

A utility future of prosumers with onsite generation and storage, and a diverse of group of service suppliers, linked by an “open architecture” grid, was one likely outcome set out at a Global Energy Summit organised by lawyers Dentons.
That radically new view of utilities came from Doyle Beneby, president and chief executive of municipal utility CPS Energy.
