Vattenfall disposes of lignite

The owners of the Eggborough and Lynemouth power plants have agreed to acquire Vattenfall’s lignite operations in Germany. Energetický a průmyslový holding (EPH) and its financial partner PPF Investments have taken on decommissioning liabilities of €2 billion and fixed assets valued at €3.4 billion. They will also retain €1.7 billion of cash. The group said: “With respect to current difficult economic conditions, the consortium committed to waive dividends for the next years to come.”
