CfD challenge raises old questions over support

The bidding window for the third allocation round for renewable energy Contracts for Difference (CfDs) has been extended to 29 August, after the process was interrupted by a legal challenge from Banks Renewables, which argues that the allocation round should include onshore wind.

The current round is open to offshore wind, biomass with combined heat and power and advanced conversion technologies, and is for delivery years 2023/24 and 2024/25.
