The Select Committee on Energy and Climate Change has opened a new inquiry into the implementation of electricity market reform (EMR).
It will ask:
Is the timetable and level of ambition of the implementation correct and is it adequately resourced?
How effectively are contracts being awarded during the transition from Renewables Obligation to Contracts for Difference (CfDs)?
Will the forthcoming CfDs enable companies to access the finance needed to support their project?
