Planning consent has been granted by North East Lincolnshire Council for an energy-from-waste plant located on land at the South Humber Bank power site.
The South Humber Bank Energy Centre will be powered by approximately 620,000 tonnes per annum of refuse-derived fuel (RDF) and will generate 49.9MW. It represents an investment of about £300 million. EPUKI submitted its application to the council in December 2018. Construction could begin this autumn and the plant could be operational in late 2022.
