End of Lecs still to be worked through

Renewable energy generators who have been awarded Levy Exemption Certificates (Lecs) for power generated before 1 August this year – when the benefit is removed – will be able to trade them until at least March 2016, according to a consultation by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). The complete withdrawal of the exemption requires changes in the Finance Bill 2016, according to law firm Addleshaw Goddard.
