Units 3 and 4 at SSE’s Ferrybridge ‘C’ coal-fired power station in Yorkshire have returned to service following a fire in July.
The fire affected flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) absorbers attached to the two units, and the generating units were unaffected.
Unit 3 (490MW) returned to service on 29 October at its full power (490MW).
SSE said significant repair was required at unit 4, but environmental regulator the Environment Agency has allowed the company to return the unit to service.
