Ineos wants leadership position in shale

If chemicals giant Ineos wins all the shale gas exploration licences  it has applied for it will become the UK’s biggest shale gas player, the company has said. It wants to add further sites to its existing holdings and if it wins licence approvals now submitted to the Department of Energy and Climate Change (Decc) it plans to invest up to £640 million in exploration. It said more investment would follow if development and production phases followed.
