Lynemouth CfD under State Aid scrutiny

The European Commission has opened an investigation into whether the UK breached State Aid rules by agreeing a Contract for Difference that would enable the owner of Lynemouth power plant to convert it to use wood fuel.
Plans to sign a so-called Final Investment Decision (FID) enabling CfD were announced by the Department of Energy and Climate Change last year and submitted to the European Commission in December.
