Ofgem has said it is “minded to” allow National Grid to continue procurement of the Strategic Balancing Reserve (SBR) and Demand Side Balancing Reserve (DSBR) to cover the winters of 2016/17 and 2017/18 although the industry argues the two measures may distort the market and obscure price signals that would bring on new generation.
