Nolan plans CMA action that ‘works with the spirit of the remedies, not the letter of the law’

The Competition and Markets Authority’s (CMA’s) press announcement at the release of its recommendations to improve competition in the energy industry “started with a boast” and ended by “saying things that can’t be true”, George Yarrow, chairman of the Regulatory Policy Institute and an ex-GEMA board member, told the audience at a recent Beesley Lecture.
