Parliamentary report: Welsh options up for discussion

Peers have been grappling with the implications of new powers for the Welsh government and assembly in relation to energy projects as part of the devolutionary Wales Bill currently under scrutiny by the upper chamber.

This legislation has surfaced at the same time as the Welsh government is pushing through a planning regime which allows for so-called nationally significant developments (NSDs) to be determined by Welsh ministers. Welsh ministers are also consulting on the creation of a non-statutory National Infrastructure Commission specifically for Wales.
