Investment in offshore wind is “increasingly paying off,” Peter Terium, chief executive of RWE, said in an update on the company’s first-quarter results.
Revenue from RWE Innogy, the company’s renewables business, was €151 million for the quarter, up 56% on the period the previous year thanks to good production in Germany, Spain and Italy. That now included production from a large part of the Gwynt y Mor wind farm off Wales (although overall renewables generation in the UK was down for the quarter) and the 290MW Nordsee Ost farm.
