Sandy Knowe rejected

The Scottish Government has rejected Burcote Wind’s application for development consent for the Sandy Knowe wind farm in Dumfries and Galloway.
The 90MW project was planned to have 30 turbines in what Burcote described as a “previously industrialised area”. But Fergus Ewing, Scottish minister with responsibility for energy, said the project “would have had an unacceptable landscape and visual impact,” saying he had to consider cumulative impact.
Burcote Wind said it would now consider how to move forward.
