Screggagh back in business

A Northern Ireland wind farm that was shut down after a turbine collapsed is back in business. The seven other turbines at the Screggagh array on Murphy Mountain near Fintona, Co Tyrone were shut down after a turbine collapsed on 2 January scattering debris over a wide area. Winds were said to be light at the time.
Turbine supplier Nordex has given the all clear for generation to be resumed. Wind farm director Doreen Walker said: “Nordex has concluded its interim investigation and confirmed that this was a unique fault concerning the wind turbine blade control system.
