The government’s Green Finance Strategy makes encouraging reading – if read in isolation from all the rest of the issue and a few historical facts.
It promises, among other things, a stable policy framework that will enable green finance to develop. But members of the power finance community giving evidence to the Treasury Select Committee’s inquiry complain of shifting policy and lack of visibility as a major problem in making energy investments.
