New utility Social Energy says it is the first to win permission from National Grid ESO to aggregate domestic response to trade in the balancing market. The company plans to give domestic customers access to flexibility revenues by offering them batteries and using proprietary artificial intelligence (AI) to manage the battery charge against customers’ predicted usage patterns.
