Data centre Global Switch is seeking to use 40 diesel rotary uninterruptible power-supply devices and six diesel generators at two data centres in East India Dock, London, to provide frequency control by demand management.
The two centres have 191MWt of capacity, of which 154MWt could be offered. The company expects them to provide frequency response on average for a dozen 15-minute periods a year in addition to their current operating regime.
