The supply industry is getting set for a major shakeup. SSE has admitted it is in talks to sell its customer services arm, with 5.7 million domestic customers, to Ovo Energy. Meanwhile Octopus acknowledged it was looking at acquisitions, with Co-operative Energy named in the press as a likely target. Unlike the Ovo/SSE tie-up, where the smaller company could be taking on one five times its size, acquiring Co-op Energy would mean a doubling in meter points for Octopus.
