Support stays in Scotland

Scotland’s chief planner, John McNairney, has written to heads of planning to remind them that Scotland’s policy supports onshore windfarms, and says that remains the case despite energy secretary Amber Rudd’s statements requiring strong community
support.
McNairney gave particular support to community-owned windfarms, saying that although the Scottish Government’s 500MW target for such schemes had been met, “we will be reviewing [the target] to maintain momentum, and our support for community and local ownership remains undiminished”.
