Three-year delay, £110 million price rise for Beauly Denny

Ofgem has confiirmed it will allow Scottish Power Transmission  (SPT) to recover three times as much capital cost as planned for the southern part of the new Beauly-Denny transmission line, and allow the construction period to be extended from four years to seven.
SPT submitted new costs and timetable for the line in 2012, when it estimated costs at £174 million, compared to the original £58 million estimate. Ofgem said it would allow costs of £168.3 million. Ofgem estimated that would add 0.5% to an avearge annual electricity bill of £489.
