Although SSE added 200MW to its wind power portfolio, lack of wind meant that generation from wind fell 22% in the six months to 30 September, compared to the previous year, the company said in a half-year trading update. Overall the company generated 2.8TWh from its renewables projects, compared to 3.1TWh in the period the previous year. Output from gas and oil-fired plants dropped slightly, from 5.6TWh to 5.3TWh, while coal generation fell dramatically from 6.8TWh in the period in 2013 to just 2.8TWh.
