What is the future for E-Serve and the industry’s other scheme administrators?

Get ready for rationalisation of the UK’s energy bodies. Pressure is growing to reduce costs and improve efficiency in administering schemes such as the Renewables Obligation, feed-in tariffs (FITs) and the Green Deal. Up to 30 organisations are involved, costing in total around £500 million annually. And although some organisations oversee several programmes – such as Ofgem’s E-Serve function – none were set up with a view to consistency across the programmes. That makes them more costly to
administer and requires extra effort and time from users.
