WoDS takes on new offshore wind connection

WoDS Transmission has paid £269 million to acquire the link connecting the West of Duddon Sands windfarm to the GB network.

The link was sold by the windfarm owner, a joint venture of Dong Energy (50%) and Scottish Power Renewables (50%), who will continue to provide operation and maintenance services. WoDS Transmission plc is owned by a consortium of Macquarie Corporate Holdings Pty Ltd (50%) and 3i Infrastructure plc (50%).
