National Grid has announced plans for an extension of its short term operating reserve (Stor) procurement activity, referred to as Stor Runway.
The System Operator said the new service aims to make it easier for new demand side response providers to enter the Stor market. It will set aside up to 200MW of Stor in its next tender round to come exclusively from DSR, and instead of requiring DSR providers to have their response in place, it will allow potential providers up to a year to sign up companies and sites to provide response.
