Ofgem has given distribution network operators (DNOs) a “final opportunity” to avoid a referral to the Competition and Markets Authority over their practice on new connections.
The regulator plans to boost competition further by introducing a new licence condition to require DNOs to reduce the extent to which competitors depend on them for essential services. The condition will also force DNOs to provide necessary services on the same basis to its competitors and its own connections business.
