The Canadian renewables fund that bought Bord Gais’s windfarm assets two years ago for around €700 million plans to sell off large parts of its Irish portfolio, which now carries an estimated value of €1 billion.
The windfarms initially for sale are the 100MW Knockacummer facility in Cork, and the 37MW Kill Hill windfarm in Tipperary.
The Bord Gais portfolio bought by Brookfield Renewable Energy Partners in 2014 comprised 321MW of operational assets, with a further 100MW under construction and a development portfolio of 300MW.
