Plans for a go-live date for the Data Communications Company (DCC) – the smart meter ‘hub’ – at the end of October met with weary cynicism in the industry. One commentator said the end of the year was more likely for the so-called R1.2 release, which covers “basics” for standard meters.
In fact, as New Power went to press, a 31 October go-live date was still mooted – but with a ‘red’ warning on delivery in the northern region and amber warnings in the central and southern regions. As a result, parties expected a regional go-live.
