The Conservative Party conference included a welcome indication from chancellor Philip Hammond that the government was ready if not to pick winners, then at least to lay some industrial groundwork. But watch the language: comments on energy from the Conservative Party refer to ‘clean’ and not ‘green’ energy.
Using gas as a transition fuel and replacing nuclear with new nuclear have the benefit of being the same policy we had in 2006.
